The Republic Military Prosecutor’s Office launched criminal proceedings on 84 facts related to corruption, Military Prosecutor Khanlar Veliyev said at the board meeting of the Republic Military Prosecutor’s Office.
He noted that according to the political will of the Head of State, the Military Prosecutor’s Office uses the administrative and convincing methods in undertaking measures against the corruption, improves its activity making this work its priority. Military prosecutor’s office has done relevant work in the field of combating corruption and bribery and launched criminal proceedings on 84 facts last year. During the inspections in the military commissariats the facts of groundless draft exemption, illegal deferment of military services and bribery were found. The criminal proceedings have been launched under the article 311.1 (bribery), 313 (falsification of office), 341.1 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation on the case of the military commissariats of Baku’s Surakhani and Khatai districts, as well as Jalilabad and Aghdam regions were ended and the investigative materials were sent to the courts. The investigation on the cases of military commissariats of Baku’s Binagadi district, Sumgayit City and Ganja’s Nizami district is underway.
